There are still mistakes within the site or issues when displaying web page called from the sotware.
All thoose mistakes will be fixed within the coming days.

To make the download easier for everyone, we’ve decided to post a download link below.
Please keep in mind this is an alpha version, that means:
- They are still many bugs.
- The new graphic interface is only integrated at 40%
- Some features are missing (public chat for example)
- Alpha version 301 does not work well in EasyConnect mode.
The idea is to let you be part of the project by giving you the oportunity to see the steps of the software contruction.

We’ve received many comments from people asking how to receive a test version, for Windows, Mac or Linux.
The only test version available so far is the Windows one. Mac will follow but not before a few weeks.
To receive the Windows test version, just send an email at contact@gigatribe.com
Version 301 has been released last sunday to people who had applied by email.
Version 301 is an alpha version, meaning:
- some features are missing,
- the new interface has not been fully integrated (about 50% only),
- we’re aware of serious bugs that crash GigaTribe (any profile update for example).
Anyhow, you may share and download files, chat and blog.
We’ve released this alpha version to have your feedback, but please keep in mind it’s still an alpha.

PC Beta version should be released this week.
Thoose who’ve sent us an email will receive a download link by email.

We’ve received a few emails from users asking whether they should pay for version3 whereas they already paid for version2.
Answer is no: no extra cost, no new user creation, no configuration change.
When you pay for GigaTribe Ultimate (or Premium), you get all the Ultimate features for any GigaTribe version. Your ultimate version is associated with your username, not with a specific version. You may install any version of GigaTribe, on any number of computers. It’s only when you login with your user name that we determine if Ultimate features are available or not.
Thanks to users comments, we’ve made the folowing chages:
- Each user has its own chat window, with all the features available in most advanced IM software: you can drag and drop images, use emoticons, shortcuts…
- A private blog is available to your contacts.
- Same contacts can be in different groups.
- Shared items (folders and files) can be customized with a comment, picture, and ranking.
- Files recently added are flagged as “new” to help you check for updates easily.
- Personal information can be added to your profile to describe your tastes, just like with a social network.
The most obvious change will probably be the new user interface: Here is a screen shot of version 3 network tab.

We’ve been announcing GigaTribe Mac version for a long time now. The good news is, yes, there will be a Mac version. Version 3, released for CES in January, has been developed using a cross-platform application framework. It means once the application is running, we’ll be able to deploy it across many desktop and embedded operating systems without rewriting the source code. In practice, we’ll deploy the Windows version first and a Mac beta version will soon follow. The official Mac version will probably take a few extra months, as we need to make sure the Mac beta testers are sending positive feedback.
To apply for the Mac beta version, just send an email to contact@gigatribe.com with “Mac Beta version” in the object field.
The BetaTest is not opened yet, but we’re receiving comments and email of users willing to test GigaTribe 3 in beta version.
Just send an email with “betatest” in the subject to contact@gigatribe.com and we’ll contact you when ready.
BetaTest should start in the first weeks of December.
Milestones to GigaTribe version 3:
November : New logo and graphic interface integrated to the software.
November : Beta version.
December : New website release.
January : Version 3.00 release

We’ve decided to create this blog because some important changes are coming: GigaTribe version 3 will soon be released. We’ll be at International CES 2009 (Booth: Sands IP228), January 8-11, to present this new version.
This blog will let us share the GigaTribe’s evolution. We’ll give at least a weekly update until the official launch in January.
